Statements erase the feeling

Every statement feels like starting over, even when I paid.

A new statement arrives and suddenly months of payments feel invisible again. The number is lower, but the story reset.

Why the reset happens

Statements are snapshots. They are not a continuous path. Your brain treats each snapshot like a new starting point.

Logging payments as they happen keeps a continuous record outside the statement cycle.

A simple counter-habit

Try this after each payment:

1. Pay your creditor as usual
2. Open Journey and log the amount
3. Watch the marker move once
4. Leave the statement for later

You still need the statement for accuracy. You do not need it to feel progress.

The canyon path is that continuous story. It does not wipe when a new PDF lands in your inbox.
