How to log one debt without turning it into a second job

Keep tracking light: starting balance, each payment you already made to your creditor, and a quick look at distance covered.

Keep the ritual small

You already decided how you are paying the debt down. Tracking should not become a second job on top of that.

Three fields, then stop

  1. Enter today's balance, not the amount you first borrowed.
  2. Log each payment on the day it leaves your account.
  3. Look at how far the marker moved, then close the app.
If tracking takes longer than the payment, I will quit.

Lotus Canyon is built for that constraint. Trail keeps one debt visible without dashboards you have to maintain.

What to skip on purpose

You do not need:

  • Bank account linking
  • Debt consolidation offers
  • Shame-based urgency messages
  • A spreadsheet rebuild every statement cycle

Skip those, and the habit stays light enough to continue.

When to open Path instead

If you are juggling more than one balance, Path adds multi-debt tracking, a projected payoff date from your own pace, and monthly milestone recaps.

Add the one debt you know by heart. Log the payment you already made this month. Watch the path move.
